 Ingredients:

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 lbs)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 1 lemon, halved
  • 1 head of garlic, halved
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the turkey giblets and pat the turkey dry with paper towels.
  2. Rub the turkey with olive oil and softened butter, then season generously with salt, pepper, and fresh herbs.
  3. Stuff the turkey cavity with the onion, lemon, and garlic.
  4. Place the turkey on a roasting rack in a large roasting pan. Pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  5. Roast for 3-4 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C), basting occasionally with the pan juices.
  6. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving. Serve with your favorite holiday sides!
