Last-minute Valentine’s Day plans call for some quick at-home date night ideas.

It’s important to figure out exactly what to eat, drink and do entertainment-wise for a successful date night. We’ve got you covered with a few thoughtful options for a weekend of romance - no reservations required!

1. DIY Charcuterie Night

Charcuterie has become a trendy new way to enjoy not only cured meats and cheeses, but just about anything snackable. Definitely check out this guide to a DIY charcuterie board at home by Brad Boisvert, chef and owner of Cure Artisan Meat and Cheese in Cobble Hill.

The art of charcuterie can be really personalized especially when you get to make it at home. Pair a classic charcuterie with a light, fruit-forward red wine, or switch it up with a dessert charcuterie that pairs well with a rosé.

2. Cozy up with Victoria Film Festival at home

Enjoy the evening by watching a movie from the Victoria Film Festival! Get inspired on what movies to see by browsing their YouTube channel for trailers. They even offer tickets for an online showing of each movie (as long as you’re within BC).

Couple, two women, enjoy a glass of rose together on a couch with a pizza and laptop. A red heart balloon behind them.

Get cozy by ordering in some local pizza and get creative with your accompanying cocktails! This Hibiscus Margarita by Tofino Tourism is a refreshing cocktail that’s the perfect sip while watching a film.

3. Sip Some Cider Flights

With Spring around the corner, you’ll be looking for some refreshing fruity ciders! We put together an Island Cider Tour back in Fall to highlight some local cideries. We think heading to a cidery has the romantic feel of a winery with the more casual and fun feel of a brewery. Best of both worlds!

If you’re staying in, bring the Island Cidery Tour to your home. We recommend some seasonal favourites such as the Cherry Lane by Sea Cider and Love Potion by Valley Cider to complement your cider flight.

Impress your date this weekend with a unique evening filled with local beers, wines, spirits and entertainment.

Stay in and keep cozy with your favourite flavours on a charcuterie board. Find a great movie to watch by supporting the Victoria Film Festival and enjoy a few cocktails. Or just explore some local cideries latest additions alongside your sweetie.

Love Potion Valley Cider bottle

Valley Cider Love Potion

Kinda tastes like you want to stare into someone's eyes for a while. Rose petals, lavender and damiana fuse into flavours which are more than the sum of their parts: floral on the nose, and more savoury (think basil & ginger) on the palate. May be magical, and at the very least uniquely delicious.
